DESCRIPTION: EPW - John Cross, Charterhouse Square, London, lever fusee, 52mm, 18K gold OF original case, London date hallmark is rubbed but appears likely for 1831, casemaker's "C A P" marking in cameo, white enamel dial, KWKS, lever escapement with capped lever, 13J, gilt mvt with gilt locking dust-cap, s#37784. Gross weight of assembled watch 90.2 dwt (140.4 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright gilt tone, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, some areas of ultra-fine scratch striations likely from a past wiping; excellent dial with small edge flake near 6; excellent hands, hour and minute are blue, seconds-hand is plum colored; case shows medium wear, nick to band near 4, no dents, reduced engine turning detail with full loss throughout shoulder, rear hinge missing an end-cap; bow pivots freely, push shows medium wear; glass crystal with some scattered short scratches.
